Is Less Really More. .?

                                     Is Less /Really More. .?

It's been stated that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but how does the beholder of that eye start off? Heres  what I mean.  Every girl remembers her mother or a woman figure in her life standing in the mirror putting on makeup OR getting dress. As a young girl I remember thinking I can't wait to do that. Putting on makeup and dressing up was, The definition of being woman and being beautiful to many. Actually becoming a woman and becoming more informative about makeup beauty makes you wonder is less really more?

There are many reasons why you might want to try wearing less make up. Whether your employer/school doesn't allow it, or if you just want to bring out the "real" you, wearing less make up can bring out your natural beauty while still giving you a bit of enhancement. There are many advantages to limiting your make up regimen, including less money spent on cosmetics, healthier skin, more confidence and less time spent on make up in the morning.(I sure have this problem) Despite this, wearing little or no makeup can be daunting, and sometimes it can be difficult to decide which parts of your beauty regimen to cut out, so read ahead for tips and advice on how to successfully pull off the no make-up look.

Can make up, make you up or take you under?

“Many women are using over 20 different products a day, bombarding themselves with hundreds of different chemicals.

A lot of women use more than 20 different beauty products a day striving to look their best while nine out of 10 apply make-up which is past its use by date.  Ladies please be sure to clean your make up properly , to avoid infections.

Did you know that our bodies absorb about 5lbs of makeup chemicals a YEAR through your skin?

That means in a lifetime, if you were to live until you are 80, assuming you started wearing makeup daily at 16, you would have absorbed approximately 320 pounds of makeup.

Did you know that women eat up to 4 lbs. of lipstick?

But I’ll bet you that any person, who thinks a fresh-faced woman doesn’t wear makeup, may not realize that in a lot of cases, she has SOME on, she’s just skillfully applied it.

However, studies have shown that if women wear just a bit of makeup, they are taken more seriously at work, are seen as more professional and polished.

Women who wear makeup earn up to 30 percent more than those who “can’t be bothered,” according to a study in the American Economic Review.

Note that they are probably referring to women who are wearing SMALL amounts of makeup, rather than caking on the foundation or concealer and looking like they’re wearing a flesh-colored masque instead.

I know it a little crazy to read every single ingredient on your make up jar, but try being a little more informed. Try cleaning your face more and eating better for a healthier glow . Like the old saying goes, if look good you will feel good. Below are some major make up products that are constantly used, be aware of the following

-Powder /while powder is useful for eliminating shine or setting makeup, it doesn't even out skin tone or cover imperfections.  One doesn’t need to use powder all over the face—only on the t zone, which is the oiliest part of the face. Some don’t need to really use it at all! If you live in a dry climate or its winter, you might be able to get away powder with being powder free. Skin looks young when it’s dewy and radiant, so why eliminate the glow?

Also: It’s just not ideal to powder and powder throughout the day- it gets caked up in the face’s oils. Use oil blotting sheets (like these) to prevent shine.

 -Foundation

Just like powder, not everyone may need foundation. If you’re blessed with a gorgeous complexion, let it show (and let us all envy you)! While foundation can even out skin tone, that doesn't mean it needs to be used all over the face. Less is always more.  (so they say ,lol) If, for example, the skin on your forehead has no blemishes or you have bangs , well then why apply foundation there?

Try using concealer, which is more pigment-dense, to cover small imperfections rather than applying all-over foundation for a few days. If you feel uncomfortable, swap your foundation for a tinted moisturizer. Even though it seems counterintuitive, the moisture will help combat the summer sun’s drying rays.

-Eyebrow Pencil

If you must,( I love this part ,because I feel eyebrows are an extensial    part of you face) instead of filling the entire brow, use an eyebrow pencil I prefer a eyebrow powder ,it feels lighter and look more natural and softer. Remember to fill only on areas that need it like in the sparse areas and create your desired shape with short strokes that look like brow hairs. Then go back with a stiff angle brush and blend the strokes in.

-Eye shadow

Now this all depends on the time of the year. If its summer time, hell why not, have fun be creative, just remember not to go so heavy.

For every day, stick to eyeliner and your favorite eye shadow shade lightly pressed on, You’ll feel confident knowing it looks great and won’t draw any stares. At least not any for the wrong reasons. ( for example being in drag make up ,without being a drag queen) lol.

 -Full-Face Makeup

For everyday life, full-face makeup is too much. So avoid dark shadowed eyes with bronzer, blush, and red lipstick. Unless you’re going out or are on TV, chances are you will look over-the-top, overdone, you get my drift.

A makeup look that leaves no part of your face natural can look like a mask, so choose which areas to focus on and stay minimal with the rest.
